SolarInput has the following goals:

• Improvement of the framework conditions to further establish Thuringia as a solar location
• Set up of a countrywide access platform for the solar location Thuringia
• Set up of regional networks with partners from different areas of activity
• Support of the innovative potential and fundamental research in Thuringia
• Improvement of the framework conditions for research and development in the areas of photovoltaics and solar thermal energy
• Attracting and supporting graduates to choose a career in photovoltaics
• Providing ongoing education for professionals involved in photovoltaics through training programs and workshops
• Funding and realization of demonstration projects for photovoltaics and solar thermal energy
• Public relations initiatives to make solar energy a natural part of the energy supply
• Supplying knowledge and information to professionals and the general public
