Members of SolarInput

SolarInput is an established communication and cooperation platform. The association manages the interests of its members in Thuringia, who come from four areas:

Enterprises… with own R&D departments produce in Thuringia along the entire value chain of the photovoltaic branch with the exception of production of pure silicon; from crystal growth via wafer, solar cell and module production right down to the system services. The branch in Thuringia has prepared itself well for a quickly developing world market and has successfully established itself here as one of the most important branches of the economy.

Research institutions… support solar industry with basic and applied research in product development. The focal points in this context are research work in the fields of crystalline silicon technology, thin-film technology and organic photovoltaic.

Educational institutions… provide the dynamically growing solar branch with a pool of well-trained experts along all the qualification levels. With a number of endowed professorships and courses of study coordinated with industry, the next academic generations are purposefully qualified. In addition, training of skilled workers in Thuringia, in particular at the competence centre for high technologies and solar economy, creates ideal prerequisites for an educational location on a national basis.

Local authorities, public institutions and associations… actively work on a local level in improving the framework conditions for use of solar energy, solar applications and innovations in solar technology in Thuringia. With this, they contribute to pave the way for environmentally friendly and sustainable energy supply by solar energy - for a sunny future.
